ALL QUEENS
Frida Kahlo Theme Original Painting
Canvas
LORALAI Original Art
This Acrylics & Oils Artwork is something I developed from Alice in Wonderland's Queen of Hearts in a Casino like setting with Frida smoking a cigarette in a long holder, with the smoke linkering in the air to make numbers, and a playing card motif brought forward by the deep bright red background, where heart symbols have been sort of stamped into the color. This creates a nice texture for the foreground, which is very visible with the Oil pastel overlay. Frida's lips are shaped in a heart symbol, using my signature brilliant red hue.

A WALK IN THE PARK
Auctioning on ebay - ArtObjects

Hello Everybody! I've a new painting in the Blue Cat Series - the title is A WALK IN THE PARK. I really felt like I Lived in this one for awhile. Took a walk along the water, enjoyed the view of the bridge, vaguely visible in the background. What I want to convey in this Blue Cat Series is a sense of having dreamt the whole thing - as if I knew this beautiful girl and her Blue Cat, and they were so very real, but then I awoke and realized it was all a Dream! My daughter says the girl looks like Audrey Hepburn.

Layered art tissue, collage paper, stamps, sparkles, crushed seashells, and more! 2 Mermaid Paintings for Amy

These are titled 'Someday My Prince will Come'
and 'Siren and the Seahorse'
I went outside on the patio to take these pics. There just is no substitute for Natural light.  The 'bubble' has been enhanced with additional shading per the buyers request.  I am alway open to suggestion, and since I paint like 8 hours a day, plus Internet time, I sometimes get lost in the 'forest'.  I am also working on some more abstract stuff, and therefore jump from one style to the next.  But my idea was to leave the Castle totally bright and visible, but this is fine too.
Wanted to do some dark hair, as it contrasts nicely with the sea colors.  My own hair changes color alot too. :)

Elvis is my Inspiration! Cat Art by Loralai

This is my new Folk Art Cat Painting. It is inspired by my good old kitty named 'Elvis'. He is 13 years old now. He is truly the King of all Cats. Even though he is getting up there in age, He still rules the roost!

Acrylics and Oil Pastels with glazes and even some transparent glass paint are used in the Artwork. Butterflies are rub-on types, and the support is a nice sturdy 18x24 inch Canvas.

I think I'll take this one to the next Art Show.

DRAGONfly Mixed Media COLLage 'FLYING DREAM'

I have had the Dream of Flying only 2 times. Maybe 3. And I dream ALOT. Vividly. In long 'Movies'. Sometime I have like premonitions i guess. And sometimes i dream of things that happened recently, but i had no knowledge of them at the time. I will tell my Mom about them, and She will sometimes tell me about something that just happened which she hadnt thought to tell me about yet. Once i dreamed about a cyber-pal who lives in San Franscisco. I dreamed I was at a Store or Restaurant she owned. Her husband and mine were there too. Business was great, the store was really rustic, lots of wood fixtures, and people were buying like souvenirs and gift-y items. It was So Fun. When I told her about it she said 'That was my Store near Haight/Ashbury back in the 60's'. Gave us both chills... She's such a hippie too. Still!
Anyway, if you ever have a Flying Dream, you are very lucky. They are rare.
This effort on Canvas (for a change) is representative of my Flying Dream. Paper bags make the wings, sprayed with water and crumpled. Dried Rose petals from my personal collection, paper confetti, hand cut, glass beads, stars and a small butterfly print of my Original Art is mounted on Stained Glass and added to the piece. The Dragonfly is made of Pearl Paper Clay. Acrylics are used for the first layer. Semi-gloss sealer spray is used in several coats to make the wings hard and secure all the stuff onto the canvas. I bought the silvery charm at a craft store, and was glad to have it this morning for this Artwork!
I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR COMMENTS on my Artwork. Follow this blog and I get FREE Signed Prints of any of my Artwork on the blog!
