Tree of Dreams

My job today was to come up with an Original Painting on the theme of the Mexican 'Tree of Life'. This is my 'Tree of Dreams'. Each set of similar objects represents a part of the Dream, an element like in Dreaming where, when asked to describe it, seems to change even as I try to focus on it.  As for the Mexican theme, I think I did what was honestly my Original work, without influence of any one Artist or preconceived idea, at least consciously. Though I Have looked at Mexican Folk Art in the past and thought it was extremely lovely and interesting.  The cat in the lower left is a print of my Original Painting called JOY, which i just posted today also.  So nice to be back to painting.

Something New......

This is my new Artwork. I really Love the metallic, magical quality of the color blend.
It is just exactly like my mind's eye.
Sent to FindFolkArt.com. They post all of my Art Auctions to ebay now. But I still list with my own website, zazzle, etsy, whatever i want.

First Snow

The first 'measurable' snow has come to Columbus. Even now light snow is falling, the view from my living room window.  Dave & I went for a walk in Sharon Woods Metro Part this morning. Our short walk yielded lots of pic opps, on a 1 mile path where 1-200 year old Oaks are preserved, baby deer forage, and we spotted a rafter of Wild Turkeys. Yes a rafter. Just found that out!

Here are the best pics:

Met fellow ramblers along the way, sipping coffee, carrying coffee, cameras and binoculars.
Great Fun, on the First Snow Day in Columbus.

Any Day creating Art is a Good Day !

Gotta get this to the P.O. by Friday! Christmas is almost here. This Collage artwork Glows in The Dark! You can easily see one special effect in the music note on the left side. There are other less noticeable glow effects, but if i turn off the light i cant take a picture.....duh!   Swarkowski Crystals, glass  beads, larger mirror, silvery reflective paper and musical collage block, plus shimmer and sparkle AND sheer blue fabric tied on the top. Shwew. Thats a One-of-a-Kind.   This is for a Buyer at a local show I did earlier this month! Very good deal on a Very Special Artwork.

Phantom of the Opera and Twilight were the inspriation for this one, titled 'Musical Reflections'.

CAT LADY

I painted this picture 2 years ago when my little black cat Tom Petty was just a baby. I fed him with a bottle, and here He is getting some TLC to help him grow.  Just like all Cat Ladies who are caring for an infant kitten, this lady is really tired, and trying to nap while the little one naps too.  A labor or love I will never regret, but Lord I hope its awhile before I have to do it again.  It is exhausting work.

Phoenix Phair - a TOTAL Success !! !!

I had SUCH a Great Day ! Phoenix Phair was really fun.  I have NEVER met so many Sweet, Wonderful People.  All the months of Work was really worth it. Especially the Kids, when they like my Art, I get really emotional.  One young lady bought a pink Mermaid painting, and I hope I hear from her again.  A Love Spell Lady Bug went to Katelyn who is 9 months old! and several wonderful Moms are decorating their little Angels rooms with new Loralai Art.  I am SO thankful to all the people who picked up a Business Card or bought a Painting or Card or Box.  I hope to hear from them again, and the lady who painted her Kitchen a Dusty Lavender color - I have alot in common with Her!

Y'all email me and send a pic so I can see where my Paintings live now.  I am always happy to do Special Requests,  a Family Portrait or 3 Sisters would be really Fun.  I will hunt for those paper mache houses to decorate to match your lavender kitchen.  Just LMK, and God Bless You all.

a New Creation

Just cant post any new art till after these Local Sales.  One is in 5 days, the other in a Month.  Then I really wanna do some work in Faces.  Even though there isnt tangible work in progress, my subliminal mind is spinning an arresting portrait.  So in January when the Snow is flying by or falling in clumps, crashing onto the giant Pine by my Art Room window, I will be sketching a new painting, lost in Time and Thought, living for the Second that a shade or hue finds its way onto the canvas, wood, or whatever I find to paint on, to finally breath life into a New Creation.

I really look forward to that.

Interesting classes in bottle art too.  And who know, Winter lasts a long time in Ohio.

A Brand New Kitty ....

My Sister in Law called me up the other day.  I always hold my breath when my family calls because they sometimes want to tell me something I may not want to hear, or do something I may not want to do, You just never know, Am I Right !!!???

But this call was for help with a brand newborn kitten she wants to rescue.  Fortunately I had some syringes and brushes and stuff left over from rescuing Tom Petty my little Black Cat I LOVE Oh soooooo Much, so I dived into my little Escort and flew across Town, stopping to grab a can of KMR on the way.

The little thing only weighs 2.1 ounces.  The Mother showed no interest in it at all.  We got him started I think, and Lara (the new 'Mom') called today to say She was REALLY TIRED from being up all nite with the 2 hour feeding schedule.  I hope She can tough it out, only 5 weeks and 6 days to go, at least for phase 1. !!!!! I have said a prayer for them both.

Going over on Wednesday to weigh Him/Her and give a feeding or 2 while I babysit little Ana.  Man I hope this goes well.

Comments Welcome !

I would like to hear from u folks who take a look at my blog ! Say whatever u want ! It does not have to be profound, or gramatically correct.  It doesnt have to rhyme or be super clever ! Its OK ! Leave a comment !
